Neither of those explain what I described above. I also understand the phone bins down to 12MP. Not to be too picky but I'm looking for some technical detailed answer if anybody has it and not just "google doesn't give your access to full resolution raw files". You can even edit RAW DNG files and save them as JPG without compromising the original quality. Once installed on your device, youll access over 29 tools, including a filter brush, HDR, healing, facial enhancer, face pose corrector, and more. Is there some secret api google has access to that third parties do not? Including the internal file transfer function for moving to pc? With Snapseed, youll get a complete set of tools to edit photos on your Android or iOS device. However, in the third party "material files" app and on my windows 11 pc exported from the phone the image dimensions are 1280x964 (I also tried using google photos to backup at original quality which results in the web app also displaying full resolution dimensions but upon downloading you get the same reduced dimensions). I can even edit in snapseed and save it and the result is the original dimensions.

In fact if I pass that dng file to snapseed, snapseed also recognizes the full dimensions. In google photos and the google files app the dimensions of the raw file are 3072x4080 which would be the full resolution of the image. I am hoping somebody here has a good explanation for this because its driving me nuts.
